Founder & Managing Partner
If you had told me in 2000 that I would be investing millions of dollars into private, early-stage companies, I would have been baffled. At the time, I had just graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and was about to start my career as an elementary music teacher.
Through many twists of fate, I landed in the Bay Area in 2001 and have since gained decades of company building experience from places like Meta/Facebook, Quora, Bain Capital Ventures, Graph Ventures, BCG, and Stanford GSB.
Currently, I sit on the boards of Lime, Mathison, and Archive Resale and volunteer for All Raise. I started Sarah Smith Fund because I believe I can have the greatest impact on more equitable wealth distribution by backing the highest potential founder CEOs and their teams at the earliest stages.
It's a humbling honor to marry my experience building and scaling teams as an operator and executive with my experience as a full-time multi-stage investor and board member. I'm passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and am committed to having a diverse LP base.
Outside of investing, I live in Menlo Park and enjoy spending time with my husband Kyle and two young kids. I love tacos, playing strategy board games, and thrifting.
